Build A Toilet

Saturday 15 April

See the Workshop report here

It’s not glamorous, but for any would-be survivors our third workshop is essential: how to deal with human waste.*

In this workshop, we’ll learn how to build a compost toilet: a simple, easy and safe device to help us avoid cholera outbreaks, and, as a bonus, create fertiliser for use on the fields.

This workshop will be led by Ariana Jordao, from the Centre for Alternative Technology, in Wales. Ariana has worked on low impact sanitation solutions for domestic off-grid projects across Europe. She'll be leading a practical, informal workshop, to teach you to build your own loo.

*Apparently the key is to separate the urine.
