Making Medicine

Saturday 22 July

See the Workshop report here

Infection. Flu. Smallpox. Broken Bones. Accidents will still happen in the future, and people will still get ill. Will modern medicine survive peak oil and rising tides? Is there anything else we can turn to?

This workshop explores alternatives. It will be led by Rasheeqa Ahmad and Sara Ghanchi, trained medical herbalists from Herbalists Without Borders. They’ll be leading a foraging walk to help you identify what medicinal plants are available locally, and teaching you how to make a herbal first aid kit.

We’ll also be discussing infection control, pain relief, and what aspects of modern healthcare we might be able to keep going.

DATE: Saturday 22nd July 2017.
TIME: 11am - 4pm.
BRING: Stout footwear, some food to share.
TICKETS: Workshops cost £10 per adult and £5 per child. This includes admission to the grounds. Tickets will be available from late May 2017. To find out more, sign up for our mailing list here.
