More info

WHERE IS IT?

The Clearing is in the grounds of Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park, in rural Warwickshire, between the towns of Banbury, Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon.

By car, Compton Verney is 9 miles east of Statford-upon-Avon, on the B4086 between Wellesbourne and Kineton. It’s 6 miles drive from the M40, Junction 12 (follow the brown signs).

By public transport, go to Banbury by train, then take the number 6 bus to Stratford-upon-Avon. The bus goes every two hours, during the day, from Monday to Saturday. Tell the bus driver you're going to Compton Verney. You can find more info here. There's no bus on a Sunday. A taxi from Banbury or Leamington is about half an hour, and costs around £25.

By bike, it’s about an hour from Leamington Spa. Be careful, the roads are busy.

By foot, it’s about half a day.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO VISIT?

Entrance to Compton Verney is a one-off cost, after which you can come as many times as you want, for a year. Please see here for more info.

Workshops cost £10 per adult and £5 per child. This includes admission to the grounds. Workshops are subsidised by the Heritage Lottery Fund. You can buy tickets on the individual workshop pages.

WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN?

The Clearing will exist from March 18th – December 17th 2017.

NO, I MEAN WHEN WILL THIS FUTURE HAPPEN THAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT?

We don’t know. The Clearing isn’t a time machine: this is a reconstruction of the future as it might be. For more information on global temperatures, food scarcity, migration, water scarcity, soil degradation and peak everything, please click the links.
